Welcome to BOOKS24. These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the BOOKS24 website, digital book store, reseller stores, partner services, and related services.
By accessing or using BOOKS24, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use our services.
1. About BOOKS24
BOOKS24 is a digital books platform focused on making knowledge accessible through convenient digital access.
We provide digital books directly to customers and operate through a network of independent resellers and partners who may promote or distribute BOOKS24 products.
BOOKS24 may update, modify, add, or remove services, features, books, prices, or programmes from time to time.
2. Digital Products
BOOKS24 primarily provides digital/softcopy books.
When you purchase a digital book:
- You receive access to the digital product you purchased.
- Access is provided after successful verification of payment.
- Digital products may be delivered through a secure download link or another digital delivery method provided by BOOKS24.
- Download links may be temporary, secured, or limited to prevent unauthorized sharing.
- A purchase does not transfer copyright or ownership of the underlying intellectual property to you.
You may use a purchased digital book for your personal use unless different terms are expressly provided for that particular product.
3. Intellectual Property
Books, covers, text, graphics, logos, website content, software, branding, and other materials available through BOOKS24 may be protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws.
Unless expressly permitted by the rights holder or applicable law, you may not:
- Resell or redistribute purchased digital books.
- Upload purchased books to public websites, groups, channels, or file-sharing platforms.
- Share download links with unauthorized persons.
- Remove copyright notices or other ownership information.
- Modify and redistribute a digital book as your own work.
- Use BOOKS24 content for commercial distribution without authorization.
BOOKS24 does not claim ownership of intellectual property belonging to authors, publishers, or other rights holders.
4. Orders and Pricing
All prices displayed on BOOKS24 are subject to change.
The price applicable to an order is the price confirmed by the BOOKS24 system at the time the order is placed.
For reseller stores, the reseller may independently determine the selling price of books made available through their store, subject to BOOKS24's applicable policies.
BOOKS24 may correct pricing errors, remove products, or cancel an order where there has been an obvious technical or pricing error.
5. Payment
BOOKS24 may support mobile-money payment methods and other payment methods made available on the platform.
For mobile-money payments:
1. You provide the required phone number.
2. A payment request may be sent to your mobile-money account.
3. You complete the payment through your mobile-money provider.
4. BOOKS24 verifies the payment.
5. Your digital product is released after successful verification.
BOOKS24 does not request, collect, or store your mobile-money PIN.
You are responsible for ensuring that the payment information and phone number you provide are correct.
A payment that is pending, failed, cancelled, expired, or otherwise not verified does not create an entitlement to download the purchased product.
6. Digital Delivery
Digital access is provided after successful payment verification.
If your payment has been completed but your book has not become available, you should use the available payment-status refresh option or contact BOOKS24 support.
BOOKS24 may temporarily restrict access where there is evidence of payment fraud, unauthorized access, technical abuse, or other security concerns.
7. Refunds
Because digital products may become accessible immediately after successful payment, refunds are generally not available once digital access has been successfully delivered, except where required by applicable law or where BOOKS24 determines that a refund is appropriate.
If:
- you were charged but payment was not properly recorded,
- you paid for the wrong product due to a technical issue,
- the purchased file is materially defective,
- you experience a technical problem preventing legitimate access,
contact BOOKS24 so the issue can be reviewed.
Refund decisions may depend on the circumstances of the transaction and available payment records.
8. Book Requests
Users may request books that are not currently available in the catalogue.
A request does not guarantee that BOOKS24 will obtain, upload, or sell the requested book.
BOOKS24 may reject or decline requests for legal, licensing, availability, commercial, or other reasons.
9. Gift a Book
BOOKS24 may allow customers to purchase eligible digital books as gifts.
Gift access may be delivered through a secure gift link.
Gift links may:
- expire after a specified period;
- be limited to a particular gift;
- be protected against unauthorized use; and
- become unavailable after redemption or expiration.
The purchaser is responsible for providing accurate recipient information.
A gift recipient does not need to create a BOOKS24 customer account unless BOOKS24 introduces such functionality in the future.
10. Resellers
BOOKS24 may allow independent resellers to operate branded digital-book stores using BOOKS24's infrastructure.
Resellers:
- operate independently within the BOOKS24 reseller programme;
- may market BOOKS24 products through their own channels;
- may set applicable selling prices where permitted;
- must comply with BOOKS24 policies and applicable laws;
- must not misrepresent their relationship with BOOKS24;
- must not distribute books outside authorized channels.
Reseller access, commissions, earnings, catalogue permissions, and other commercial arrangements are governed by the applicable reseller terms and BOOKS24 policies.
BOOKS24 may suspend or terminate reseller access for violations, fraud, abuse, or other legitimate reasons.
11. Partnerships
BOOKS24 may work with independent partners including creators, affiliates, campus communities, distributors, and strategic partners.
Partners may receive referral links, campaign materials, or other tools for promoting BOOKS24 or participating in approved campaigns.
A partnership does not automatically create an employment relationship, agency relationship, joint venture, or ownership interest in BOOKS24.
Partners may only receive commissions or other benefits where an applicable programme or agreement provides for them.
12. Referral and Commission Attribution
BOOKS24 may use referral links or codes to attribute eligible sales to partners.
Attribution is determined by BOOKS24's systems and applicable campaign rules.
BOOKS24 may reject or reverse attribution or commissions associated with:
- fraudulent transactions;
- self-referrals;
- duplicate or manipulated referrals;
- cancelled or refunded transactions;
- abuse of referral systems; or
- violations of campaign rules.
Commissions are not guaranteed merely because a referral link was used.
13. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use BOOKS24 to:
- commit fraud;
- interfere with the operation of the platform;
- attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, databases, or APIs;
- bypass payment or download controls;
- manipulate prices, commissions, referrals, or orders;
- distribute malicious files or code;
- scrape or abuse the platform;
- impersonate BOOKS24, a reseller, partner, author, or another person;
- use BOOKS24 for unlawful purposes.
BOOKS24 may restrict or terminate access where necessary to protect users, partners, rights holders, payment systems, or the platform.
14. Security
BOOKS24 uses technical measures designed to protect transactions, digital files, user information, and platform infrastructure.
However, no internet-based system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You are responsible for keeping any private links, payment information, and other access information provided to you confidential.
If you discover a security vulnerability or unauthorized access involving BOOKS24, please report it through the available support channels rather than exploiting it.
15. Third-Party Services
BOOKS24 may rely on third-party services such as payment providers, hosting providers, storage services, analytics tools, communication services, or other infrastructure providers.
Your use of those services may also be subject to their own terms and policies.
BOOKS24 is not responsible for interruptions caused solely by third-party systems outside our reasonable control.
16. Availability of the Service
BOOKS24 aims to maintain reliable service but does not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
The website or particular features may occasionally be unavailable because of:
- maintenance;
- upgrades;
- technical failures;
- security incidents;
- payment-provider issues;
- internet or infrastructure failures; or
- circumstances outside our reasonable control.
17. Disclaimer
BOOKS24 provides its services on an "as available" basis.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure that information, products, payment processing, and digital delivery operate correctly, but we do not guarantee that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in every circumstance.
18. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, BOOKS24 will not be responsible for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising from your use of the platform.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
19. Privacy
Your use of BOOKS24 is also subject to our Privacy Policy.
We may process information necessary to provide services, including order information, payment-related information, contact information, reseller information, partner information, and technical information.
BOOKS24 does not need to create a customer login account in order to process a normal guest purchase.
20. Changes to These Terms
BOOKS24 may update these Terms from time to time.
When material changes are made, the updated version will be published on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
Your continued use of BOOKS24 after an update means that you accept the updated Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.
21. Governing Law
These Terms shall be interpreted in accordance with the applicable laws of the United Republic of Tanzania, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Any disputes should first be raised with BOOKS24 so that the parties have an opportunity to resolve the matter directly.
